Athletics & Student Activities

The Shawnee Mission School District provides a wide range of athletic programs and activities for both high school and middle school students. These programs are offered during the fall, winter, and spring seasons and operate under the guidance of the Kansas State High School Activities Association (KSHSAA). Most activities take place outside the regular school day, and student participation is strongly encouraged because it supports health and well-being while helping students develop confidence, teamwork, and leadership skills.
Student safety is a top priority. Each high school is supported by a certified athletic trainer who helps create a safe environment and supports the physical development and care of student-athletes.
Through strong partnerships with our schools and community, the district is able to provide excellent facilities, practice fields, and equipment across Shawnee Mission.
We take great pride in the accomplishments of our individual athletes and teams over the years, made possible through the dedication and guidance of our outstanding coaching staffs.
