Hunger does not take a vacation in the summer time in the Shawnee Mission School District. We offer free lunches for all children ages 1-18. These meals are funded entirely by the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The Shawnee Mission food services department will prepare and serve these lunches during the summer.

All children are welcome to come inside the cafeteria to eat at Summer Lunch Bunch.  During summer 2022, children may take their meals to go. In addition, on Fridays, children can receive a “Take Home” bag with food for Saturday and Sunday lunch as well as breakfast food for seven days.  Take home bags will be offered on Fridays only.

Children must be present to receive meals. Contact Food Services for a voucher if special circumstances prevent child from being present. Parents can obtain a voucher so they are able to take home items without their children being present. For more information on how to obtain a voucher, click here.

Contact the Food Services Department with any questions at 913-993-9710 or foodservice@smsd.org.
