Diabetes Care

​Managing diabetes in the school setting

• Please notify your school nurse if your student has been diagnosed with diabetes.
• Current physician orders related to your student's diabetic care must be provided each school year.
• The school nurse will work with the student, parent, physician, and teachers to develop an individualized health plan that includes steps to follow in an emergency.
• Parents/guardians are responsible for providing all diabetic supplies.
