Hocker Grove Presents Virtual Play Production

Hocker Grove Presents Virtual Play Production
Shawnee Mission School District

This year, multiple Shawnee Mission schools have opened the curtain on virtual performing arts productions. Hocker Grove Middle School shared a virtual play, featuring several monologues, called “10 Ways to Survive Life in a Quarantine,” by Don Zolidis.

The Eagles worked on multiple aspects of the show. They spent six weeks rehearsing, filming, and editing their own scenes, even holding some rehearsal on WebEx and asynchronously. Each actor was in charge of their own backgrounds, costumes, and lighting. Students in the drama council even selected the play.

Through this method, actors submitted their rehearsal clips and received feedback from their directors, Shawnasea Holst and Julia Reed.
