Family members, friends, and educators gathered at Shawnee Mission School District stadiums and online to cheer for the Shawnee Mission School District Class of 2021.
This May, nearly 2,000 seniors walked across the stage, received their diploma, and threw their caps in the air to mark the completion of their academic careers in Shawnee Mission.
Multiple commencement speakers reflected on all students had overcome as they persevered through an uncommon school year. There were also numerous recognitions for all of the academic, athletic, artistic, and personal accomplishments of the Class of 2021 during their school careers. The ceremonies also looked to the future as students take the next steps to college and career.
Collectively, the Class of 2021 earned $1.77 billion in scholarship offers through Scholarship Shawnee Mission, a Shawnee Mission Education Foundation program.
