Shawnee Mission Student Scores Perfect 36 on ACT
Shawnee Mission School District

Andrew Ward, a junior at Shawnee Mission East High School, scored a 36 on the ACT exam -- the highest score possible.

Ward is actively involved in the Shawnee Mission East student community, serving as a Link leader in the Link Crew Program. The role of link leader is to assist freshmen in their transition to high school by helping them to feel comfortable and achieve success throughout their first year. Ward has also been a member of the Shawnee Mission orchestra and tennis team.

Ward is interested in the STEM disciplines of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. He plans to pursue a career in computer science or bioengineering.

A perfect score on the ACT exam is rare. Fewer than one-tenth of one percent of text-takers achieve the distinction.
