Shawnee Mission Parents as Teachers serves families from 0 to 36 months. Click here to learn more or to enroll. Parents are their child’s first and most important teachers, and we want to make sure you have the resources and support you need to thrive.
Did you know that 80% of brain development occurs before age three?
These early years provide critical windows of opportunity that will help build the foundation for your child’s life.
Let us help you maximize efforts by providing information that will help you understand the meaning behind your child’s behaviors, how to build your parent-child connection, and walk with you through parenting challenges along the way.
The Shawnee Mission Parents as Teachers program is a universal, FREE home visiting program for families residing in the Shawnee Mission School District with children prenatal through three years of age. Through Parents as Teachers, families receive monthly home visits (as part of the district’s health and safety measures related to COVID-19 virtual visits are being conducted), screenings, group connections and resource connections.
