Oct. 4-10 is Anti-Bullying Awareness Week
Shawnee Mission School District

The Shawnee Mission School District (SMSD) joins in observing Anti-Bullying Awareness Week.

In Kansas, Anti-Bullying Awareness takes place from Oct. 4 through 10, 2021. Schools across the state of Kansas are observing the week with the theme “Choose Peace.” Everyone is encouraged to stop bullying before it starts.

The Kansas State Board of Education and the Kansas State Senate designated the first full week of October as Anti-Bullying Awareness Week in our state. It takes place amidst National Bullying Prevention Month. The Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE) joins all Kansas schools in observing the week as an opportunity to create awareness and address the harm that bullying creates.

Schools across the SMSD will join in raising awareness and providing resources designed to help students and families proactively prevent bullying.
