Parents As Teachers Enjoy a Fall Scavenger Hunt

Parents As Teachers Enjoy a Fall Scavenger Hunt
Shawnee Mission School District

Shawnee Mission Parents as Teachers (SMPAT) hosted a Fall Scavenger Hunt for families on the nature trail at the Center for Academic Achievement.

Exploring and seeking items along the trail gave family members the chance to enjoy physical activity while connecting and supporting one another.

Organized by the parent educators, the Fall Scavenger Hunt is one of the SMPAT group connection activities.

“The fall scavenger hunt is a fun, family activity that provides an opportunity for children and their families to get outside and enjoy the beautiful fall weather, explore nature, and practice their attention and observation skills as they search for items hidden throughout the CAA native plantings area,” said Mary Chris Blickhan, SMSD parent educator and co-organizer of the event.

Additional events and activities are held throughout the year, some in collaboration with the SMPAT PTA.
