Celebrating SMSD’s ICT Team!
Shawnee Mission School District

This week we take time to thank our Shawnee Mission ICT Professionals! The Shawnee Mission School District is fortunate to have a team of individuals that supports technology use in every school. More than 55 dedicated professionals collaborate to provide everything from customer service, maintenance, and training, to device management, cyber security assessment and monitoring, and more.

The Information and Communication Technology (ICT) team is committed to helping all district teams and students be successful in their efforts to meet the mission and goals of the Shawnee Mission School District, Drew Lane, executive director of information and communication technologies noted.

“This is a team that often works behind the scenes, but does so much to problem-solve, overcome challenges, and proactively address technology needs in order to support student achievement,” Lane expressed. “I hope our community joins me in saying an extra word of thanks to these outstanding professionals.”

To give you an idea of what this collaborative team accomplishes during the year, here are a few stats:

·                 More than 50,000 tickets were submitted and resolved in the 2020-2021 school
              year.

·                 More than 3,400 device repairs during the 2020-2021 school year.

·                 More than 300 unique models of hardware and 50,000 assets supported.

National IT Professionals Day, celebrated in September, began in 2015 to honor technology professionals who support the workplace. Shawnee Mission ICT is such an important part of making us #OneShawneeMission!
