PTA Reflections Award Winners Honored

The Shawnee Mission Board of Education and school district recognized student Award of Excellence winners from the PTA Reflections Program prior to the January 23 Board of Education meeting. The Recognition Ceremony can be viewed here.

This year, students were encouraged to interpret the theme “Show Your Voice.” Students across the district submitted visual artwork, literature, photography, musical compositions, films, and choreography.

Shawnee Mission Area Council (SMAC) PTA received 92 entries from students at the elementary, middle, and high school level from across the district.

Here is a look at Shawnee Mission students who have received an Award of Excellence and will compete in the Kansas State PTA Reflections Program competition: 

Dance Choreography

The Reflections program is a National PTA Program, providing opportunities for recognition and access to the arts, which boost student confidence and success in the arts and in life.

SMAC PTA is a council of 45 PTA units that serve the Shawnee Mission area in working for children and youth.
