Thank a Tradesperson on Sept. 16
Shawnee Mission School District

September 16th is National Tradesperson Day.  The Shawnee Mission School District is thanking our group of skilled individuals across the district who keep our schools running strong.

Shawnee Mission Operations and Maintenance (O&M) team maintains the district’s 5.4 million square feet of interior building space and more than 800 acres of outdoor space. It takes teamwork from the entire O&M Team, including the utilities department, grounds department, painting department, warehouse department, and building crafts department to keep the spaces where students learn and staff work in top shape.

“Operations and Maintenance team members are dedicated to providing the best possible service for our state-of-the-art facilities,” Judd Remmers, assistant director of facilities shares. “Ensuring safe and functional learning environments is top priority, along with keeping our spaces appealing for students, staff, and our communities.”

Please thank our skilled personnel. Every day, staff and students work in spaces because of something they built or maintain in the SMSD.
