PTA Reflections Award Winners Honored

The Shawnee Mission Board of Education and school district formally recognized student honorees from the Shawnee Mission Area Council (SMAC) PTA Reflections Program prior to the January 22 Board of Education meeting. The Recognition Ceremony can be viewed here.

Students interpreted this year’s theme, “I am Hopeful Because…”, with original works of art in the categories of Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography, Visual Arts.

109 entries were received from across the district in Pre-K through grade 12.

Reflections is a program through the National PTA, providing opportunities for recognition and access to the arts, which boost student confidence and success in the arts and in life.

SMAC PTA is a council of 45 PTA units that serve the Shawnee Mission area in working for children and youth.
