An art show, featuring the work of Shawnee Mission School District team members, is in full swing at the Center for Academic Achievement.
More than 35 works of art are on display in the CAA Board Room and lobby gallery space, featuring work by office, technical, support and custodial staff, as well as teachers across all grade levels and who teach a variety of subjects.
Visitors are able to see this collection of artwork during regular business hours, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. through the end of September at the CAA, 8200 W. 71st St.
Later in September, one piece will be selected to become a part of the district’s permanent collection, which will be on display at the CAA in May through July.
“Thank you to all of the creative Shawnee Mission School District staff members who shared their gifts and passion with us,” Megan Ellis, visual arts coordinator and Lenexa Hills art teacher expressed. “The talent in One SMSD shines bright in our staff, and we look forward to continuing to recognize their creative skills in this annual show.
