A Message From Superintendent Mike Fulton

Welcome to the Shawnee Mission School District. On July 2, I began my tenure as superintendent, and I am committed to continuing and strengthening the excellence that is at the core of this district. In my brief time here, I have already experienced the caring commitment to every child’s success which forms the heart of the district’s current and future success.

The district is fortunate to be supported by 14 municipalities, each of which recognizes and supports the critical importance of public education. In fact, it is the strong partnership between the school district and its multiple communities that creates such tremendous opportunities for our students and supports a wonderful quality of life for all residents. The Shawnee Mission School District’s tradition of excellence and commitment to innovation make our school district community stand out as an exceptional place to live and learn.
