All staff members and students at Arrowhead Day School gathered this week to celebrate the school’s 2019 graduating class.
This marked the first graduation ceremony for the school, honoring four graduates from various high schools across the district. Principal Stephen Wyly congratulated the students and thanked everyone who had supported the students as they reached this milestone.
To begin the celebration, Jennifer Martello, music therapist, and student musicians provided prelude music for the graduates and ceremony attendees.
Then, each graduate, dressed in their caps and gowns, joined one of their teachers on stage who shared what they appreciate about the graduate. Several students also chose to share a few words at the podium. They talked about their school experience and thanked the individuals that helped them reach graduation day.
Following a presentation of diplomas and turning of tassels, the students presented flowers to family members and teachers to thank them for their support and attended a reception.
In addition to this ceremony, each Arrowhead graduate is encouraged to walk with their class at their home school graduation ceremony.
