Chris Combs and Codie Allen from 106.5 the Wolf stopped by James’s classroom to give James a round of applause and present her classroom with a few prizes as part of the recognition.

Principal Teddi Pendland said James, who has taught for 36 years, is very deserving of the public praise.

“She is so enthusiastic about teaching, she loves the kids and it shows the second you meet her,” Pendland said.

James was surprised with the honor after bringing students back from recess.

“It’s nice to be recognized, but to be honest, there are so many teachers in this building that could be recognized,” James said “It’s a great place and a great place for students.”

As part of the recognition, Combs and Allen also provided students tickets to see Dinosaurs Revealed at Union Station.
