Broadmoor Bistro Taking Reservations for Oct. 23 Culinary Homecoming

Chef Pablo Munoz, a Shawnee Mission culinary arts graduate will return to the Broadmoor Bistro kitchen as the student-run restaurant holds a culinary homecoming event.

As part of the homecoming, Munoz will serve as a chef mentor and prepare a five-course meal with culinary arts students to serve to dinner guests. The event will begin at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, October 23, 2019. Click here to make a reservation or to find out more.

The menu for the evening features:

·      Citrus Salad with herb crackl’n and preserved lemon vinaigrette

·      Grilled Vegetable Plate with white wine goat cheese spread

·      Confit Chicken Thigh with Mexican risotto

·      Tamarind-vanilla crust lamb chop

·      Dessert Bruschetta on caramelized baguette

Munoz is the executive chef for Tannin Wine bar and kitchen. He is the first in his family to graduate college and after studying culinary arts in Shawnee Mission, he graduated from Arts Institutes International- Kansas City. While there, he studied with Chef Steve Venne, who now serves as catering director and instructor at the Broadmoor Bistro.

The Broadmoor Bistro is the center for culinary arts education in the Shawnee Mission School District.
