Corinth Elementary School has been designated an Exemplary High Performing Schools National Blue Ribbon School for 2019. Corinth Elementary is one of 362 schools in the nation and one of six schools from Kansas to be recognized in 2019.

“Exemplary High Performing” schools have their state’s highest high school graduation rates and the highest achieving students (the top 15%) in English and mathematics, measured by state assessments.

“Our site council, school leadership team, and several teachers worked together to complete the extensive application process,” Chris Lowe, Corinth principal said. “I am so proud of our students and staff as this recognition is a reflection of our engaged and supportive learning community.”

The National Blue Ribbon Schools Program award recognizes public and private elementary, middle, and high schools where students either achieve very high learning standards or are making notable improvements in closing the achievement gap.

The award is based on a school’s overall academic excellence or progress in closing achievement gaps among student subgroups. National Blue Ribbon Schools demonstrate that all students can achieve to high levels.

Since 1982, the U. S. Department of Education has sought out and celebrated great American schools. The National Blue Ribbon School award affirms the hard work of students, educators, families, and communities in creating safe and welcoming schools where students master challenging content.
