Crestview Surpasses Goals with Community Service Project
Shawnee Mission School District

This spring, the Crestview Cougars accomplished big goals as they worked together to help people in need.

As part of a schoolwide effort to assist people who are homeless, students and staff collected items and organized “Handy Bags.” Click here to see a video.

Staff members and students from each grade level collected a certain item to contribute to the project. At the conclusion of the collection, students worked together to build the handy bags, so they could eventually be distributed to individuals who could use assistance.

The school had a goal of collecting 100 handy bags and the school well surpassed the goal, Michael Fanning, student council sponsor and fifth-grade teacher said.
