A message from the Shawnee Mission Education Foundation:
Dear friends,
In the past two months, our entire world has changed. The Covid-19 pandemic has affected how we work, learn, play and gather. For some of our Shawnee Mission students, these changes have been catastrophic. Job losses, furloughs, and illnesses are affecting so many Shawnee Mission families--even those who have never needed help before.
When our students find themselves struggling with hunger, homelessness, illness and sometimes hopelessness, the Cares Fund is there. We provide emergency assistance to our families in crisis. Now, more than ever, the Cares Fund stands ready to assist as we grapple with the devastation wrought by this pandemic.
One thing that Covid-19 has not--and will not--change is our community’s unwavering support for our Shawnee Mission kids. We are all in this together.
On this #GivingTuesdayNow, please join me in supporting our Shawnee Mission kids with a gift to the Cares Fund. No amount is too big or too small--every single gift will help a child in need.
My best to you and yours for safety and good health,
Kim Hinkle, Executive Director
