Hocker Grove students recently participated in Career Day hosted at their school. See a video here.
To support the district’s college and career readiness strategic plan objective, business partners led mini workshops. Students had the opportunity to see and learn first-hand about a variety of professions. Represented careers were wide-ranged and included the Police Academy, Software Engineering, and Physician Assistants.
Increasing students’ exposure to a variety of career and leadership opportunities, also prompted discussions about the education and training students are going to need to achieve their career of interest. Students discovered many careers may include science, math, and physics; with many careers being both challenging and rewarding.
In making a decision on their career choice, many of the business partners encouraged students to shadow a career where they have interest.
