For the second consecutive year, Wyatt Boyd, an eighth-grader at Hocker Grove Middle School has qualified to compete in the National Geographic Bee.

He was recently declared the state champion at the Kansas State GeoBee. Click here to see an interview with Boyd.

Boyd has earned a spot to compete in the National Championship bee in Washington, D.C. in May for the opportunity to compete for a variety of prizes and scholarships. He was also presented with a $1,000 cash prize at the state bee, held at the Dwight D. Eisenhower Presidential Library and Museum in Abeline, Kan.
