At the January 14 regular Board of Education meeting, Dr. Mike Fulton, superintendent, proclaimed that January is School Board Recognition Month in the Shawnee Mission School District.

Board members serve the Shawnee Mission School District as volunteers. As the proclamation stated, board members are strong advocates for public education and believe all children can be successful learners. They are instrumental in ensuring students are highly prepared for college and careers.
We extend our thanks to Shawnee Mission Board of Education members for their work to mold an education system that meets the needs of children today and in the future.
