The National PTA is recognizing several Shawnee Mission schools for strong family-school relationships.
Belinder Elementary PTA, East Antioch Elementary PTA, Tomahawk Elementary PTA, Indian Hills Middle School PTA, and Shawnee Mission East High School PTSA have earned the National PTA School of Excellence designation for 2019-2021. These five Shawnee Mission schools are among only seven in the state to earn this national 2019-2021recognition.
National PTA presents this in honor of the schools’ commitments to building an “inclusive and welcoming school community where all families contribute to enriching the educational experience and overall well-being for all students,” according to the National PTA website.
“These schools have created an environment where families feel welcomed and empowered to support their child’s success and that is an incredible achievement,” Leslie Boggs, National PTA President said. “National PTA will point to you, our School of Excellence recipients to show the value of engaging families in student success and school improvements.”
The Mill Creek Elementary PTA and Shawnee Mission North High School PTSA were recognized as 2018-2020 National PTA Schools of Excellence.
