To help their peers learn more about how the United States Constitution was created, Pawnee Elementary School students opened the curtain on a class play.
Students in fifth grade presented a play called “Unite or Die: How Thirteen States Became a Nation.” To prepare and share their production, students used language arts, social studies, and collaboration skills. Students served as narrators and performed as representatives for the 13 original colonies. In addition to preparing for the performance, students contributed their own prop and costume design for the show.
Students in Abbey Kobylinski’s, Dave Owens’s, and Jennifer Danaher’s fifth-grade classes performed the play for students from other grade levels as part of the school’s Constitution Day observation on September 17.
