Seeking Early Childhood Peers for 2020-2021 School Year

Seeking Early Childhood Peers for 2020-2021 School Year
Shawnee Mission School District

The Shawnee Mission Early Childhood Education Center is currently seeking peers for the 2020-2021 school year. More information and the link to start the application process can be found here.

The peer program is a unique experience where students with special needs learn from their same-aged peers allowing all children to have a positive first experience with school. Peers are an integral part of this program. They demonstrate skills such as following directions and using good manners during natural social interactions.

The program is offered Monday through Thursday from 8:15-11:00 a.m. or 12:15-3:00 p.m..  The early childhood program is not in session on Friday or any other days the Shawnee Mission School District is not in session.

The peer program is free to all families within our district and open to children who will be 3 or 4 on or before August 31, 2020. This is a first come, first served program, so the sooner an application is received, the higher the likelihood of your child having a spot.
