The Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE) asks each school district in the state to nominate one elementary and one secondary classroom teacher for the Kansas Teacher of the Year Program. These Shawnee Mission School District nominees will be recognized on Sunday, Sept. 9 at the Kansas Teacher of the Year Region 3 Dinner.
The person named Kansas Teacher of the Year is entered in the National Teacher of the Year competition and each nominee is invited to become a part of a Kansas teachers network to share best practices and ideas.
Sheridan is in her second year of teaching at the Arrowhead Day School and has served in the Shawnee Mission School District for more than 15 years. She is passionate about teaching her students to learn new and more adaptive ways to respond to challenges.
