Shawnee Mission School District
Mission Road was filled with the sounds of music, students in costumes, and a lot of Columbia blue as Shawnee Mission East celebrated Lancer Day.
Students and staff at the high school celebrated the occasion with a parade and pep rally on Sept. 12.
This year’s parade theme was “Music Through the Decades” and students and staff representing a variety of school organizations and activities dressed up for the occasion and danced their way through the parade route.
The event concluded with a pep rally at the Shops of Prairie Village as students got ready to cheer on Lancer athletes later that day.
