Shawnee Mission West High School will celebrate the 10-year anniversary of the West Patrons’ Gallery with an art show, “Now & Then.”
The exhibit will feature 18 professional artists who have exhibited artwork in the gallery during the past decade. A reception for the artists will be hosted from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, November 6 at the school, 8800 W. 85th St.
Each artist will exhibit two works. One of the works of art will be from in their original show in the gallery and another will be a more recent piece.
Exhibit dates are November 5 through December 14 during school hours.
Students, families, patrons and the public are invited to the meet and greet reception. Several of the featured artists have ties to Shawnee Mission Schools.
The gallery was created at Shawnee Mission West with a goal of connecting students face-to-face with professional artists and their work. A partial list of the participating artists includes: Joe Bussell, Eric and Erin Dodson, Michael Duane, Jean Howard, Keith Kavanaugh, Rusty Leffel, Curtis Olinger, Gregory Summers, Fred Trease, and Catherine Vesc.
