Shawnee Mission School District
In a metrowide singing competition, two singers from the Shawnee Mission School District have advanced to the final round.
Emma Mathieson, SM West junior, and Alyssa Mendoza, recent SM Northwest graduate, are among 10 finalists in the KC SuperStar singing competition.
This annual high school singing competition began with 23 performers in early June. Those who are named KC Superstar winners are presented with scholarships.
Mathieson and Mendoza will perform in final competition on Aug 26 at Johnson County Community College. KC Superstar is hosted by The Jewish Community Center of Greater Kansas City.
