Welcome Back Breakfast for Staff Hosted at Center for Academic Achievement

Staff Breakfast
Shawnee Mission School District

School office staff members kicked-off the 2019-2020 school year with a breakfast sponsored by Mainstreet Credit Union.

Superintendent Mike Fulton provided an update on the district’s Strategic Plan and how it will guide the district’s work in the next week, month, and year, through 2024. He thanked the staff members for setting a positive climate and culture in their schools.

“Thank you for all you do for our students and families and the difference you make at each school,” Fulton said.

Mainstreet Credit Union hosts this annual breakfast because its employees are passionate about financial literacy, John Beverlin, President and CEO shared. The credit union also has strong ties to the Shawnee Mission School District, which is celebrating its golden anniversary this year. It was first established as the Northeast Johnson County Teachers’ Credit Union in 1953 and for a time was headquartered in a Shawnee Mission classroom.

Following breakfast, the returning staff members attended four separate training sessions on Business, Leadership and Learning, Family/Health Services, and Technology.

“It’s great to all be back together, we are a close group,” Jeinny Morris, Trailridge office staff member said.
