Shawnee Mission performing arts students continue to ensure the show will go on.
Recently, Shawnee Mission West performing arts and Thespian Troupe #2413 shared an online production.
Their presentation of “10 Actors in Search of a Cell Phone” can be viewed on YouTube. The show is about challenges face due to a lost cell phone as they attempt to present their school play.
The students utilized a three- camera setup, recording the full show without stopped on a Wednesday. After recording with multiple cameras, performers followed up the next day to record needed close ups. Student performers wore masks and then switched to performance masks, which had a window for visibility while maintaining safety. In addition to acting, students on the light crew gained new skill in lighting for an on-camera production, instructor Eric Magnus shared.
