Culinary arts students are preparing Thanksgiving food to help with the holiday food prep. For this annual SkillsUSA fundraiser, they will be baking side dishes, desserts, and breakfast items for the holiday. You may order online. Orders must be placed by noon on Monday, November 25.
Customers may pick up items prepared by Shawnee Mission students from 2 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, November 26 and from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Wednesday, November 27 in the Broadmoor Bistro at the Center for Academic Achievement, 8200 W. 71st St.
The menu includes apple, pumpkin, pecan, and chocolate cream pie. The sides include herb potato casserole, sage bread stuffing, and buttered rolls. There are breakfast items like cinnamon rolls and breakfast casserole and the Bistro’s famous English muffins.
SkillsUSA Broadmoor chapter is a student organization that holds a state and national conference each year. The money raised will help fund student attendance at these conferences which feature a variety of job-related competitions offered to help students strengthen job skills and provide opportunity for scholarships.
