Strategic Plan 2019-2024

 

On June 24, 2019, at a regular board meeting, Board of Education members approved the Shawnee Mission School District (SMSD) Strategic Plan. The SMSD community engaged in thoughtful work, which led to the development of this road map which guides the district’s work for the years to come. Shawnee Mission has a proud tradition of excellence and this plan is designed to build on the past to create an even better future.

As with all conversations, questions, decisions, and evaluations our beginning and end will point to our Strategic Plan centered on the following objective: 

 

Portrait of a Graduate 

Organized around the three objectives, the Shawnee Mission School District's "Portrait of a Graduate" highlights key skills and attributes critical to life success. A team of students, parents, and staff met during the 2019-2020 school year to develop the portrait.
