College & Career Pathways

The Shawnee Mission School District's College & Career Pathways offer students a focused approach to learning and skill development that aligns with their career interests. These programs provide a blend of academic coursework and hands-on, practical training, preparing students for further education and employment opportunities. Student can change career pathways as they go through high school to help find their best future career fit. Our goal is for students to graduate high school both college and career ready demonstrated through relevant real-world learning activities.

College & Career Pathways marked with an hashtag (#) are part of our Signature Programs, which provide high school students the opportunity to explore unique areas of study in preparation for specialized academic and future career opportunities. Students being their Signature Programs journey at any of our high schools, then attend specialized courses at the Center for Academic Achievement or the Career and Technical Campus for part of their day.

Real World Learning Counselors

Each high school has a Real World Learning liaison to assist students in pursuing their College & Career Pathways. These team members focus on student access to college credit, internships, industry credentials, and entrepreneurial experiences..
