Shawnee Mission students have the opportunity take a wide variety of Project Lead The Way (PLTW) certified Engineering courses in both middle and high school. Middle schools offer Design & Modeling and Robotics, whereas high schools offer Intro to Engineering Design and Principles of Engineering. Students can build on these foundation courses through a variety of classes offered at the Center for Academic Achievement. Classes at the CAA provide a chance to work with students from other high schools in the district, learn in a professional environment, and achieve a higher level of specialization in their course work.
Students advance themselves in the field of engineering as they use the latest in equipment, software, and Project Lead the Way curriculum.
