Students in this program move beyond the traditional classroom to explore the complex relationship between living organisms and their environment. The curriculum focuses on the science of plant growth, soil health, and sustainable resource management.
- Plant Anatomy & Physiology: Understanding how plants function, reproduce, and adapt to different climates.
- Soil Chemistry: Analyzing soil composition, nutrient cycles, and the role of microorganisms in supporting life.
- Composting: Recycling organic waste into nutrient-rich soil through natural decomposition.
- Hydroponics: Growing plants in nutrient-rich water instead of using soil.
- Community Partnerships: Support organizations fighting food insecurity in our community.
- Greenhouse Management: Learning the business and technical side of running a commercial-grade nursery, including irrigation systems and pest management.
