Middle School

Middle schools in Shawnee Mission School District provide a positive, team-driven environment with increased academic rigor and enhanced curricular offerings to support students through the transition from elementary school to high school.  Middle schools serve the academic and social-emotional needs of students by providing Advanced/Pre-AP courses, as well as a dynamic array of electives for students to enhance their skills and cultivate their talents in the arts, technology, culture, food, fashion, health, and business. Students will exit middle school with a strong background in critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and communication.  Shawnee Mission middle schools provide a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for students to enhance their academics and to explore their talents.
