Shawnee Mission PAT Play Center
Play Center Schedule - Friday Play Centers have begun!
Shawnee Mission Parents as Teachers playgroups in the play center offer children an opportunity to build social skills and enjoy play time with their parents, model appropriate play and interact with other parents. The Parent Educators put forth a plan to bring families together inside at our Early Childhood Education Center play center.
As you arrive at the Early Childhood Education Center, please enter through Door 1. We will scan can your driver's license and give you a visitor badge. If technology works like it should, we will only need to scan your driver's license once.
The Play Center will be held on Fridays from 9 am to 11 am and/or Saturdays from 9:30 - 11:30am. We are asking families to limit 1 hour of play time and please pick up before you leave. No Registration Necessary! Please see flyers below with more information.

Music & Stories
The Play Center will host Bradley Debrick for some fun playful sing-along songs & stories. If you haven't see Mr. Bradley perform, you will be in for a real treat! First, enjoy our Play Center! The Play Center will be open from 9:30 - 10am & Music Event - 10 - 10:30am (see dates below). 2025-2026 dates coming soon.

Availability
The Play Center is open to all children currently enrolled in the Shawnee Mission Parents as Teachers program (birth to 36 months).
Location - Early Childhood Education Center (Broadmoor Center) 6701 W. 83rd Street, (83rd & Metcalf) - (913) 993-9380.
Please no food or drink and model clean-up skills as you and your child put toys away after play.

Have Fun with Books: Children just want to have FUN and if we want them to learn to read, we need to make books and reading fun. Johnson County Library
- Inclement Weather - PAT staff and play center follow all Shawnee Mission School District weather cancellations. Please check your local news source or the main SMSD website for more information. If SMSD is closed due to poor weather conditions so are the PAT home visits and the play center.
