In keeping with the Shawnee Mission Board of Education policy, all students are required to take a final examination. The final exam will be given on the last day of each session from 8:00 - 9:30 a.m. Students must be in attendance on that day. NO EXCEPTIONS.
Students who are enrolled must report to the commons/bridge area at SM West by 6:50 a.m. to locate their classroom. Rosters and room numbers will be posted and administrators will be on duty to help guide students to the correct location. Students should bring their SMSD laptop if required, paper and pencil the first day. PE students should dress appropriately and be ready for physical activity.
SMSD Summer Academy follows all SMSD COVID-19 mitigation protocols
Parking is included in your tuition. All students who drive and park on campus should park in in the 85th Street parking lot by the tennis courts or the Antioch parking lot. Students are to drive in a safe and prudent manner when entering and exiting the campus. Failure to do so may result in parking privileges being revoked.
SMSD students who enroll in Academy courses requiring technology before the end of the school year will retain their SMSD MacBook for Summer Academy use. Proof of enrollment and payment will need to be provided to the student's home school at the time of device check-in. If a student enrolls after device check-in, they will need to contact their school's administration before June 14 with proof of enrollment and payment to check out their device. SMSD incoming freshmen enrolling in Health Education or Intro to Studio Art must enroll by May 24 for either session. After these dates, enrollments cannot be accepted nor devices provided. All students will turn in devices at the end of their summer course. The Responsible Use Policy and Damage Device Structure is still in effect for Summer Academy as during the normal school year.
