About Student and Family Services
The Department of Student and Family Services supports the improvement of the quality of life of families that directly supports the educational success of children. By connecting families with necessary school and community resources, we are able to support families as they work toward goals of self-sufficiency and stability.
The goal of the team is to connect students and families with building level support, resources, and information so that all students realize the support necessary to experience student success. The Shawnee Mission School District is committed to fostering an educational environment that is safe, welcoming, and free from stigma and discrimination for all students, regardless of gender identity or expression, and to ensuring that all students have the opportunity to express themselves and live authentically.
